One lane of I-95 northbound and I-287 eastbound will close Friday, Sept. 6 at 10 p.m. until Monday, Sept. 9 at 6 a.m. as road crews install precast pavement slabs as part of the “Last Mile” infrastructure project.

The closure will affect I-95 northbound from just past exit 21 at mile marker 14.0 to the Connecticut state line. One lane will also be closed on I-287 eastbound from exit 12 to the merge with I-95 northbound.

An additional lane will be closed on I-95 northbound in the same area overnight on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the Thruway Authority says.

During this time, motorists are advised to consider alternate routes to avoid delays.

Work is weather dependent and subject to change.

Updated travel information is available on the Thruway Authority’s website and the dedicated webpage for the “Last Mile” project. The project includes several ramp upgrades and reconfigurations, reconstruction of the I-95 mainline, replacement of two bridges, rehabilitation of four bridges and the installation of noise walls and visual barriers.
